In the spirit of promoting international and intercultural understanding, we'd like to describe one phenomenon that has invaded the English-speaking internet for our international (or less internet-dependent) friends. This phenomenon is the Rickroll.
What's a Rickroll? In short, a Rickroll occurs when someone is given a link seemingly to something interesting or important -- a cool picture, funny video, vital information, et cetera -- but finds upon clicking that they are taken instead to
a youtube music video of the 1987 Rick Astley song "Never Gonna Give You Up." If you send such a link, you are attempting to Rickroll your victim(s); and if you click on said link, you have been Rickrolled. When viewing the link, you will notice three key components of the target video:
1) Awkward dancing
2) A random girl
3) Constant video cuts
A typical Rickroll looks something like this:

Another, perhaps more interesting, international/intercultural fact we'd like to share with you is the prevalence of "Greek to me" - type idioms across languages.
In English, the idiom "It's all Greek to me" is used to describe a situation in which a listener can make no sense of what they are being told (whether in their native language or in a foreign language). Surprisingly (or perhaps not surprisingly), other languages seem to have parallel idioms to express the same sentiment. For example, in Esperanto, you can express the same idea by saying, "Tio estas volapukajho" (That's a volapuk-thing), a phrase that makes reference to another constructed language. Similarly, while English-speakers may refer to nonsensical talk as Greek, Greek-speakers might characterize something equally nonsensical as Arabic.
